Quest for the GPW s2000
Cool story- and a hell of a blowout! That tyre is destroyed! Any idea what caused it? Surely just getting a nail or whatever in the tread shouldnt do that?
Its weird the states being so big, over here in the UK whilst there are regional differences too you really need to go over to europe by boat or plane or whatever to get any real sense of 'being someplace different' yet in the states all you have to do is get in the car and drive!
Nice car btw, i'm on the look out for a GPW too- there are a ton of s2000s on sale over here, but i've yet to see a single GPW car of any age for sale

Sometimes I walk downstairs just to look at my car in the garage. Even when I first bought it, for the first hour I was shocked that I actually owned the car now.

Hmmm did you only change one tire? You should at least change two of them, given that you already had quite a few miles on your left tire ...
Anyway ... nice car!

Wow awesome story and great read! Congrats on the purchase and awesome deal! Funny how socal has probably the most s2k's in the US yet the one GPW you want is over in MS in the middle of nowhere... funny how life works like that.
Seemed like a fun adventure, glad you, your bro, and the car made it home ok! It sounds like quite a culture shock, don't think I could survive down in the deep south. Ahhh the socal life, can't leave it...

BTW - Missouri is NOT the deep south. It is not a southern state.
.I just reread your comment, I think you got the states mixed up buddy
I was thinking how in the world is Mississippi not the south its practically at the bottom.

For the most part, people in the south are very friendly.

For some reason I thought you said Misouri somewhere in there, yes Miss is a very southern place, and in many areas, very poor.
