Question about the HIDs on the S2Ks.
- Do the NA-spec S2Ks come with an autoleveling system for the lights, or are they fixed?
- How difficult/expensive is it to retrofit the headlight washer setup to the NA-spec cars? Just drilling a few holes and adding a few hoses, or do you need an entirely new rebar, bumper, etc, etc?
- Do the J-spec S2Ks have a different beam pattern (i.e: DOT vs SAE), I'm not referring to the beam angle bias (i.e: RHD vs LHD), but rather if the projector lense is a pure convex or ridged.
- Any problems with oncoming traffic flashing you/blinding other drivers?
Thanks!

I can help a little but not a lot.
1) The lights on the S do not have an autoleveling feature although the beam pattern can be adjusted.
2) no idea
3) Yes. I believe the pattern is different largely due to DOT laws and the differences inherent in RHD vs LHD applications.
4) Yes. It doesn't happen very often (to me at least) but I do get flashed by other drivers. My thoughts are that the stiff susupension and relatively short wheelbase of the S create a car which moves quite a bit with bumps. This motion causes our lowbeams to dazzle or flash.

I can comment on the oncoming traffic.
The S2k's HID are set, IMO, high from the factory. Add to this the fact that they aren't as blue as other HIDs and the S2k's rigid suspension.
Most drivers see bright white light, not blue, and constant flickering. It's not much of a leap to think some drivers could confuse this with flashing the high beams.
I've been flashed on multiple occasions and have has a few irate people drop behind me and flash away. Mostly in SUV's, which boggles the mind

Thanks a million guys, most of my questions have been answered!
Anyone have an answer for the following:
- Do the J-spec S2Ks come with an autoleveling system for the lights, or are they also fixed?
- How difficult/expensive is it to retrofit the headlight washer setup to the NA-spec cars? Just drilling a few holes and adding a few hoses, or do you need an entirely new rebar, bumper, etc, etc?
Thanks!

First off its a S2000 not a BMW if you need washers for the front headlights for some reason though it can be done and has been done before but it will cost a forture to retrofit. As for the flashing lights. let me drive behind you with my 18's and my race lowering springs on. It looks like I am flashing constistantly. I have adjusted mine down a little and with the lowering springs in I really have to go over a bump to get light in peoples eyes.
As for cops pulling us over. I keep a little printout that honda gave out as a spec sheat for the car which lists the HID as stock equipment,

The J-Spec beam pattern is quite a bit different. The US spec lights have a pattern that is lower on the drivers side to reduce blinding oncoming drivers.
The J-Spec lights have a similar pattern, but Japan drives on the other side of the road. So when used in the US, it actually increases the blinding of oncoming drivers.
Most people suggest US drivers stay away from J-Spec lights alltogether. The only reason to get them is for the OEM clear corners. And for that, the Euro-Spec lights are a much better solution, being both clear corner and designed for LHD cars.

Does anyone have an actual figure for the washer retrofit? I spent about $3000 retrofitting my car with the OEM HIDs, washers, and autoleveling system, so I'm guessing maybe about $1000 give or take a few hundred on the S2Ks?
So I take it an autolevling system is not an option whatsoever on the S2K?
Are the Euro-spec casings readily available? Anyone know the price?
