Default Why not?

I was just reading the FAQ for taking delivery and point number 15 kinna puzzle me "Do not install the floor mats Honda Supplies with the car. I prefer to install them"

Does anyone know what the reason behind this is?

Probably so you can be the very first person to step on them. Not the dirty soles of the shop worker.

If you have them installed by the dealer they will cut a slit in the carpet to screw the bracket down, not necessary. You can run a screw thru the carpet and bot have a large slit that looks bad...

Correct but now moot. It's my understanding that the '02s have the pegs installed in Japan.
