has anyone installed a cooling plate with their FIPK?? if so which one do you think will work best with it?
thanks
thanks
IMO, if you have a cooling plate that doesn't have this "outlet," you're actually going to be hindering airflow to the FIPK.
I also have the FiPK
Before the install my friends 06 wrx would juuuuust barely pull on me through my 3rd gear top up...
After the install (AND an invidia catback) I pull on him through the same gears, same outside temps.. WITH the top down
So I think I see a usable difference.
Awww...wish I COULD hear mine any more... but I wouldn't give up the invidia

The AUT Cooling Plate will work well with it. The AUT has an "outlet" than funnels air into the stock opening. When you install the K&N FIPK, the filter sits very close to where this "outlet" on the AUT Cooling Plate dumps the incoming air, making it a very nice complimentary part.

where do i buy one then?
I just finished installing my FIPK. Its loud. Pretty similar to the noise with the stock airbox lid off, but better. The install went ok. I was left with a bunch of washers.. I forgot to put a washer on every bolt and every nut.. I only used one washer per. Also, I spilled coolant.. make sure you have a towel under the coolant hoses on the head and below the TB.
