Default Question about passenger side of s2000

Can a 256 lbs. 6'1" male fit comfortably as a passenger in the s2000? The reason I'm asking, is because I take care of an autistic boy who is that size for a part-time job. The next car I purchase will also be used to drive him around. This will be a major factor I will be considering when making my decision in whether I should get an s2000 or an Evolution.

I am about that size and I fit on the driver's side. I can't imagine there is any less room on the passenger side. There is plenty of head and leg room.

It can be a little tough getting in and out of the car if your passenger has reduced mobility, espeically with the top up.

Actually, there is a bit less room on the passenger side of the car.

My roommate is about 6'1, but he's "only" ~190lbs. He fits in the car...barely. He clanks his head on the hardtop everytime he gets in

You might be better off with an RX-8, 350Z, or G35. Convertibles in general are going to cramp your big buddy.

hansel,

My friend is about that size, and he fits into the passenger side without problems. According to him, it's not that bad. That having been said, it doesn't look like he has much extra space when he's in the car. His knees are pretty close to the dashboard when he's sitting down. Head space looks fine though.

Also, when you've got a big guy in the S2000, you can really feel it when you drive. While accelerating and taking corners, you will feel the extra weight very noticeably.

All in all, if you need to carry big folks, the Evo will do much better. The same friend I'm talking about fits in the Evo with plenty of room to spare, definitely more so than in the S2000.

You won't go wrong either way. But if this is an important criteria, I'd honestly go with the Evo.

This is a '02 S2000 that I'm talking about, btw. I don't know if anything has changed in the '04 model.

The kid will fit snug, but will probably love the ride. Foot room is awkward for me at 6'2" and 240 lbs., but I am an old man.

Why not take him to the dealer & see for yourself?

My brother in law is about 6'2", 280lb, and didn't fit at all. We made a road trip to a store 30 miles away and it was awkward. He had no room to maneuver.

It'll "work" but it's not going to be a great situation IMO.
