Default Question about side strakes.

For those of you that do have them, do you guys use the lower side strake too? Or just doubleside tape the top one on to the body?

Thanks

Dmitry

The side strakes come in 2 parts. The top is drilled into the body of the car and the lower rubber piece clips and screws onto the top portion.

Yes it's possible to just replace the bottom piece. It's attached by clips and brackets.

Unfortunately, I'm almost positive that they don't sell it that way. Most likely you would have to buy an entire set. I don't even think you can buy just one but not 100% sure on that.

The side strake is an annoyance after the car is lowered. Finally got rid of the rubber piece and I personally like it better.

that sucks, but it was what i was afraid of. the dealer told me you had to buy the complete entire set (which is what, like $400 or something?). i've been riding around with one of the rubber pieces missing for a while now...you actually can't really even tell something is supposed to be there unless you know to look for it though, it isn't obvious something is missing. oh well.

You can get a set for $350 but for that money you'd be better off taking off the other rubber piece and buying the CF side splitters. They actually require the rubber piece of the strake to be removed.

Really? How much of a drop do you have?

I'm 1.5" down and have never had a problem with the strake rubber.

Are you talking about it hitting over speed bumps? If it is, maybe it's my frame rail reinforcement that keeps them from hitting like yours did. Those bastards hit everything.
