Default Question about soft top problems

I have a tear on the passenger side right behind the head rest....I saw it mentioned in a previous thread but not sure where it was and the search isnt working at this time (keep getting syntax errors for some reason), but someone had mentioned it being a manufacturer defect and was recalled...is this true? Can I get my top fixed for free?

Not on an '00. I got mine fixed, but it was so bad that the top wore a hole over about 10k miles.

Unless you are under warranty you are SOL.

What some people have been successful with is placing a claim with American Honda. I'd find you the thread but search is unfortunately not working. Thetz99 has had success with placing a claim with American Honda and having the dealership foot half the bill on a new top (or something like that, can't recall the details right now). Good luck.
