I bought the newest example I could afford, thus landed myself an AP2. Could have gone either way. Difference is so small (to me at least), I could care less about AP1 vs AP2 at the time.

I bought the ap1 for the 9k experience. that alone was something I could not replicate in a ap2 or any other car from the factory. just out of preference I would buy a 06+ ap2 if I could do it again. I love my ap1 though.

I bought an ap1 and I love it, I love the look of the ap2 and theres stuff about the ap1 that I think looks better, such as the rear bumper. But after driving my friends ap2 I felt like the ap1 was more of a race car but the ap2 just looked and was more comfortable to drive.

My advice:

- Find nice examples of each
- Drive them
- Buy the one you prefer
- Enjoy one of the best sports cars you can find

I had ordered an 04 from my local dealer. It came in the same time as an 03 did.I chose the 03.

For me,the 04 was a more refined version.Smoother & quieter than the 03.

I don't like smooth & quiet.

Been happy with my 03 for 95k miles.

AP1 all the way. for the power train, and raw feeling. I personally have an ap1. with ap2 headlights and tailights, and front and rear bumpers and center console.

I love my ap1, in the middle of a complete build to run a reliable 450hp , but even before that I loved just driving the ap1

when I bought this car.. I had no idea there was an ap1 or ap2..didn't know the ap2 only did 8k.. didn't know difference in transmissions.. did not know 16 in or 17 in wheels... just saw this car one day.. was in the market to replace the one I had and I wanted the S2000 when I first read about it some 7 or so years before I finally bought mine.... so I bought it...would I want an ap2 now that I have had a few miles on this ap1... no..... I already changed out the transmission for the ap2.. back bout 50k miles ago... so I already have the only ap2 part I would have wanted...anything else is trim....
