Default Question on Fitting the Convertible Bonnet

Just picked up my MY04 S and put it in the garage till better weather. Lowered the top in the garage(40 Degree F temperature) to check operation. When I tried fitting the bonnet I fastened all the snaps but was unable to fit the aft end lip in the rear. It was raised up about 1-1.5 inches in the back. Am I doing something wrong? Does the bonnet fit notoriously poorly? The dealer said it was the temperature and that it should work fine in the warmer weather...ie 60+ degrees. That in those temps the bonnet will stretch. Keep in mind I was storing the bonnet in my home which is about 65-68 degrees F.

Any suggestions or similar experiences? Would retracting the hooks on the tops fasteners make a difference? I followed the instructions in the manual to a tee.

Anyones thoughts would be appreciated.

In some cases your top might need adjusting to sit a little lower in the well when it is down. Maybe get it checked out sometime when you are next at the dealer..

Similar experience? Yes! I think every model year owner has had them. They are a royal pain in the a$$ to put on.
Suggestions? Yes! (1) Keep it covered in the garage until summer when you won't have to constantly take it off/put it on. (2) Sell it on E-Bay.
Seriously... To me it was easier (if that's possible) to put it on when it was warmer. I don't even bother with it anymore and it's covered in the garage. The car looks great with it on, but it's just not worth the hassle to me.
Remember if you do chose to drive with it on... Twist the elastic straps a couple of times before connecting them so they don't BUZZZZ with the wind blowing over them. That can be pretty annoying.
Congratulations on your purchase Be safe

They are a pain to put on the bonnet. I found to put the bonnet on is easier then trying to remove the bonnet. Or Maybe that just me.

Sometimes in cooler weather I need to give the top a little push down to get it to drop a little more into the bay. I notice the top drops about another inch or so and the boot fits fine.
