My wife is totally supportive! I even get to keep the car even though we're expecting an addition into the family in less than 3 months. I wiil also get to buy a Porsche Carrera at my almost mid-life crisis years of 40.

She was one of the main reasons. She has been egging me on to buy a convertible for years, but I've been waiting for the right one. She wanted a Miata, but that's a deal-breaker. No way. The Mercedes SLK was too cute for me, not sporty enough, although she liked it. The Z3 we both didn't like; although she did like the phallic-looking design (Her own joke.) The Porsche was too expensive to have as a convertible.

Once the S2000 came out, it was the one car we both liked, but we waited a year until they got most of the bugs out.

Now that we have it, we're both thrilled. My wife is not in the best of health, and actually, the MAIN reason I bought it was for her sake; so she can also enjoy the thrill of a convertible while she's still around.

My story is kinda like Matrix

I had a deposit on a Boxster S, she loved that...I think cause it was a Porsche.

I took the S2000 out because I did a lot of reading (mostly here) and thought it would be worth checking out. Did that fell in love with the raw feel and fun factor (didn't hurt that I saved 30+K).

She said if you don't get the Porsche atleast get the Yellow...so I did. Damn compromises

I don't have an S2K yet, but my wife has the color already picked out for when we can afford one (Silver/Black). I'd prefer Silver/Red, but if I get the car, who cares what color it is? So yeah, my wife is supportive of the idea.....for whenever we get around to buying one.

Not married, although my g/f was quite supportive in the purchase of my S. Being female however, she is looking waaaayyy into the future, a future paved with dribbling babies and exuberant mortgage payments.
That said, even though she has told me to keep the car when we marry, it seems likely, all things considered that I may have to part with it Unless I part with my g/f first that is

I forgot to mention that I'm not married either, but my girlfriend is the one that drove me to the dealership to get the car. She actually had just got back from a business trip and she drove me about 50+ miles to the dealership in rush hour traffic. In LA, you know how long it takes to get anywhere, so that's some REAL support from her.

My ex-husband did support my decision! I just feel bad for him that he doesn't get to ride in the passenger seat and look like this !
