Question for married guys/gals
I just bought my BL/BL 2002 and replaced a beautiful 1973 450SL which she never drove anyway. Great cruiser, but not really much fun to DRIVE. Looked at Boxsters and Zs, couldn't beat the price vs. happiness quotient with the S2K on any level. Her main concern now is that our first child is less than a month away and I am already looking into disabling the passenger air bag. I found a way cool "baby Recaro" black leather car seat that matches the interior. My wife figures she will never get to ride in the car again once our daughter gets used to it.
My wife encouraged me to get it and she loves it. But, she doesn't want to drive it. We have 2 kids with 1 on the way, but the biggest problem is the kids really like to ride in it. Wish I could turn the passenger air bag off. It helps that its a 3rd or 4th car.
Several years ago, my brother told his wife he wanted to buy an NSX. His wife said, "I want a baby". They both got what they wanted. Funny thing is that the NSX is now gone and replaced by an MDX and the kid (now kids) is/are still there. I think she won.

My hubby was as excited as I was to get the S. He doesn't get to drive it very often, but I know he loves every minute when he does.
The thing that really sucks is when I take it to the dealership for service. The male chauvinist pigs that work there always tell me to tell my husband what a great job he does detailing the engine bay. WTF???? He wouldn't know how to detail anything. His truck hasn't been washed in over 2 years unless you count rain. Makes me sad.
It was mine for 10 years and I kept it spotless, just like the S. Oh well!

Molly, that's a pretty common story with spouses.
Maybe it's better that both of you aren't anal (no offense
) about your cars.
My wife loves her Volvo, but after 3 years, this past weekend was the first time I've ever seen her wash it herself. Mostly it was an activity for our 4 yr. old!

Best wishes

My wife didn't speak to me for 9 fun filled days after I came home with it. Now 7 months later shes warmed up to it a little. If I had to do it all over again I'd still buy it. I'd rather live in a cardboard box with my S2k than stay in my house without it.

I'll bet you any amount of money, 951 drives in sub-zero temps with the top down and heater on max! That's the only way to practice for living in the box!
Rock on, 951!!!!

thank God for assertive women.
