Default Question on S2k startup..

Hey guys, I'm new to s2000's and I just bought a 2003 Berlina Black/Black..

Everytime I push the start button on the last crank when the engine fires the engine seems to bounce really hard. It is usually accompanied by a knock type sound (Can't really explain it otherwise).

Also when driving slow over some bumps (always hear it in my driveway coming home) I hear some creaks coming from the front of the car..

Any ideas?

The creaks probably have something to do with your suspension. I had that problem with my STi and it was the bushings. The start-up problem sounds like something that happens to a lot of our cars in the cold months. Not sure if you live in a colder area, but that would be my only guess. Probably has something to do with the battery cause that was my problem.

My car makes a clunking noise during start up and I read from previous threads that it's normal...

Yeah it is normal...I was just trying to see what it could be. There's a way to help it a little if it's due to a colder climate...but in your case I would say it's normal and not to worry.

Sometimes I hear a loud "CLUNK!" and it scares the hell out of me.

I figured the startup thing was normal, even if it is a little unsettling...

Anyone have any idea on the creaking? It doesn't seem like a suspension noise and I can't really pinpoint where it's exactly coming from.. Sounds like directly in front of me, but I'm not that sure..

Is this something I should try and use my warranty for?

I doubt they will be able to figure it out tho..

I've mentioned it in a few other threads, but I've had a creak/squeak that always sounded like it was coming from right behind the dash when I went over bumps or rough road. Turned out it was the hood latch assembly.

You can test it by standing in front of the car and pushing down lightly on the front of the hood a few times. If it's the hood latch, you'll hear it. Some silicon spray takes care of it for a day or two. White lithium grease spray should eliminate it for many months at least.
