Question on Side Markers
Ok....this may just be stupid, but what are they for and why are they on our car?
I originally thought it must be a mandatory thing, but after taking a quick cruise through the parking lot, I'm finding a good 1/3 of the cars out there don't have them. Also, quite a few only have the amber markers on the headlights....which we have also.
Is there a reason we have both?
Just curious because I think the S2000 would look much better without them.
Here's another question
Is it possible to mount flush side markers? I have seen a few cars with side markers like this.
I think my biggest gripe about the side marker is not the color or placement, more that the stick out like sore thumbs. Clearing them won't change this.
Anyway.....can someone lay the knowledge on me and enlighten me in the ways of the side markers
Thanks

i think sidemarkers are just another turn signal indicator. when a car is right next to you or if you're slightly in front of another car, if you want to merge, the sidemarker will indicate this. i'm just guessing...i think now-a-days, its more of a look that's become standard on cars everywhere in the world except the states. domestic cars don't have them, and most of the japanese cars that are imported don't have them. almost all european cars do tho.
flush sidemarkers are avaliable. i've also seen them on this website. i don't know where to turn you exactly as well...sorry, all i can recommend is a search.
i too think that the sidemarkers are ugly. if i could have it my way, i'd order new fenders and have them NOT cut the holes for the sidemarkers. IMHO it'd be cleaner and sleeker...and with the s2000 emblems removed, automotive uneducated people would have no clue what car it was.
