$29,730

may not be what the dealer actually owns the car for. PDI usually costs a dealer about 200 bucks.

29,785 is what a dealer PAYS for an s2000. at that point a dealers SERVICE dept charges the NEW car dept any where from $200-$300 depending on the dealer. so a new car dept's actual cost is right at about $30,000

Also keep in mind that AHM also pays the dealer an approx. 2% holdback (from MSRP) or about $650 on the car, regardless of what they sell it for. So, if they are into the car for only $28,323 and you get it for "$1000 over invoice" you gave them a profit of $1650.

Check out this site for an explanation. It's important to have this information so you can negotiate UP from what the dealer REALLY has invested in the car. Good luck on your search.

Honda has an allowance for PDI. Doesn't cost the dealer a thing. That direct from our local GM.
