Default Question for those with vented hoods

What happens when it rains?

On a similar topic, how much on average, does it cost to paint match a CF hood? I prefer to have my car all one color.

Rain guards prevent the water from getting into your bay and it falls just in front of the stock airbox (at least with my TS copy) and it cost me about $200.00 to have mine painted

with the j's... rain just falls infront of the engine... right around the cross frame... not that big of a deal unless you have a turbo or supercharger

I'd be more worried about other liquids than rain getting in my engine bay.

I have never understood the point of a vented or CF hood on an S2000.

Weight for the CF.

As for venting, it increases airflow, thereby lowering engine compartment temp, probably helps intake air temp and speed as well.

EDIT: Aside from asthetics.

The stock aluminum hood is already so light, by the time you paint a CF hood, it already weighs as much as the stock hood.

I just put on a vented j's style hood on my car yesterday preparing for my S/C and I think the stock one was lighter!
