Question for those with vented hoods
For tuned cars there fairly important in keeping "all" cool while on standard cars they just have the "look good" factor ( if you like that sort of thing )
I have a Top Secret hood and the rain channels are effective even if they do look a bit crude.

Also, if you change to an aftermarket header that does not have the same sort of heat shields that the stock one has, it gets REALLY hot under the hood. A vented hood is almost a must. I have recorded underhood temps getting up to as high as 70*C 5 minutes after shutting down. I can imagine how hot it gets with no heat shields. Temps that hot is not good for the battery or other underhood components that would not normally see those kinds of temps.
As far as lower temperatures in the engine bay, why not drill out the dummy vents in the grill. Would that help? I know that when I had my '03 CL Type S, the Icebox induction that I got from CompTec dropped down below right in front of the dummy vents, so I drilled them out with a 1/4" drill bit.

I have never understood the point of a vented or CF hood on an S2000.

Remember, weight reduction adds up. You're not going to be able to swap one part and get a night and day difference.
