Default Questions about purchasing S2K

Hi guys, I am going to purchase a used S2000 very soon and I have some questions for you guys. I went to many dealerships and I checked out alot of used S2000s. Today, I found a 2001 silverstone with 8200 miles. The car looks mint and already comes with front OEM lip and rear OEM spoiler. Interior is extremely clean and I'm thinking of purchasing this car. Here are some of my questions:

-What kind of things should I look for on my test drive?(Weird noises or things that may be abnormal that you guys know are problems with some S2000s)

-Were there any problems with the 2001 S2000s?

-Also, what month do the new 2005 S2000s come out in?

-How much do you guys think the price will drop on the 2004s when the new 2005s come out?

Thanks for all your help.

Mmk...

I bought my Silverstone '01 for $21635 OTD with 8900 miles Almost 2 months ago.

Look for the "Clutch Buzz" on decelleration. If the warranty has expired, make sure they fix it and replace your clutch before you buy the car.

I'm guessing 2005s will come in late August or September... Prices for '04s should be in the low $28k range for a brand new one.

Low $28K for a new 2004 S2K???? I have the dealers invoice on a 2004 S2000 at $29,535 plus a non-negotiable $460 delivery fee which totals $29,995. Even with the $995 dealer holdback (3% of MSRP) taken out it brings the dealers true "bottom line" cost down to $29,000 even. There is no way a dealer will offer these cars brand new (non-demo) for anything less than $29,000 unless there are special incentives in place (which there are not and doubtfully ever will be on a S2000).

In fact, I have a hard time believing that a Honda dealer would take anything less than $30,000 on a S2000. It is not like there are masses of S2000's SITTING on the dealers lots where they must give them away to make room for others (ie. Ford Exporers, Ford Expeditions, etc.).

However, I do know for a fact that you can get a brand new 2004 for $30,495.

Anyone have realistic input that contradicts any of my info? It is surely welcome...

Thanks for the advice. Yeah, I've been looking around and all I can find are 2000s and 2001s. I can't seem to find any 2002s or 2003s. I think I'm going to look around more and maybe I'll find a newer model. I don't want to rush into things and have it bite me in the butt later on. Thanks for your help.
