I've got an '04. It's been my daily driver since I got in in Jan '04. I'd have to say it really depends on the driving you do and where you do it. If it's 25 miles a day, mostly highway, you'll get pretty good gas mileage (25 ish mpg). Straight highway, I've gotten near 30 mpg. Prepare for a noisy ride from wind and the road, even with the top up. When you drive by semi's, it'll be quite deafening. This car was meant for curvy backroads. Commute to work includes a bit of everything, but honestly, I'm getting tired of commuting with the S2000. However, there's lots of traffic, the roads are bad (potholes, ruts, etc...) and there isn't much room to drive spiritly. It really defeats the purpose of having the car. Between that and the fact that I will be starting a family soon, the S2000 just doesn't cut it for me anymore. I love the car and the performance, but when my lease is up in 8 months or so (or if I can get rid of it sooner), I'm going to go with something sporty, but most likely not a convertible (maybe a VW GTI, Volvo C30, WRX, who knows?). If you're single and/or don't think you'll mind the things I've complained about above, go for it.
