Well, in a few months, I will be leaving the Mainland and heading to Hawaii to live. The biggest issue with the move is shipping the stook. Has anyone shipped a car before and have any advice on measures I can take to ensure my baby gets to Paradise in good condition?

I'll be shipping it out of Baltimore. I'll be sure to check the mileage before she goes. I want to do everything I can to make sure she arrives in Hawaii in the same shape she left in--with maybe a little dirt from sitting for a month or so.

I'm also considering getting some extra insurance in case something does happen.

Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!

The first thing I would do is contact your local Honda dealers and see if you can get a set of the spring spacers.

There are also tie-down slots in the bottom of the frame rails that are plugged during PDI (pre-delivery inspection). In fact, there is a whole PDI manual that the dealers have. My dealer let me take theirs home to copy it shortly after I bought it.

My S2000 needs to be shipped from TX to San Francisco.

First, should I go with an enclosed cargo truck or one of those regular ones where you see them stacked into two levels?

Second, please give me some leads to reputable transport businesses.

Third, thanks.

I used Intercity Lines to ship my old M3, and on that same truck was an F355, and two boxsters. I think their website is intercitylines.com. The car arrived perfect.
