Default quick convertible top question

Hi, I'm going to buy a used s2000 within a couple months and I need some help in choosing the year to buy. I read in a couple posts that people switch to the 2003 softop or that the problems of the softop tearing was fixed for 2003 models. I always thought that the convertible tops were changed in 2002 where the glass window was introduced? So I have some confusion in which year to buy because I want a glass window and no tearing on the top. So do 2002 models still have the problem with the softop tearing after time? Thanks in advanced.

I believe some cars in all model years will eventually have the wear hole present in the softtop. It's just more pronounced in the older MY due to age. Honda said they fixed it, but I still see some of the newer owners complaining about wear. My friend has an 03' and he's getting minor wear on certain parts of his softtop. Check out this thread for more info.
