hi, how hot does it get under the hood??
cuz im about to install the stock heat shield on my cf hood. but i can't find a drill to drill the holes. so im thinking of using maybe the heavy duty all weather black double sided tape... will it work? or will the tape melt?

 

Measured just off to the side of the intake manifold, after driving in the heat of summer in city traffic for at least an hour .............................. 70*C.
The tape won't likely melt, but the repeated exposure to such heat (and it'll be even hotter over the exhaust manifold) will render the tape useless. It'll dry up, curl up and fall off.
