Well I think I understand, he already sold the SC and you still want the car. Go for it, but still find out where it was installed and removed, and who did the tuning then confirm their abilities to tune well before moving ahead.

That said, there probably wasn't any tune on it if he just installed a kit which isn't a bad thing.
