I'm about to purchase an '07, and have a quick question about what security measures are included on the car, and what is gained by purchasing the factory security system option.

Is the engine immobilizer part of the standard equipment list, or added with the security system?

The car comes standard with keyless entry, though the picture of the security system accessory on Honda's website shows a keyless-entry module. Is this a replacement keychain module, or do they just tap into the stock one?

Basically, what additional protection do I gain by purchasing the accessory security system?

I should know but I don't. It's probably just an alarm and probably over priced. I think I'd go after market for a security system.

 

There is an OEM alarm, although its not very good, as the above poster said, most people go aftermarket.

 

I have the OEM alarm system. It is not worth the money. The only real solution is an after market system and a hard top.

i regret getting the OEM alarm, b/c the finance guy say it so fast and said it the best one they have and i'm in a rush. b@sta@rd!!!

now I have to install the optional hood security myself, because they quote me 300 (b/c there 3 components) to install it when the part only 65buck.
