Default Radar Detector

So I was driving in SOCAL near ventura county, and noticed there was a white dodge Intrepid cop pulling over a car!!! what the?!

I was told by my friend that, he's seen alot of different types of cops on the street around here! He's even been pulled over by a racer cop with some tricked out honda. This undercover, rev's up his engine, then provokes you into a race. If you launch, your screwed. Is he full of it, or what?

In any case, if this is true or not, I would still like a radar detector to avoid speed traps. I know, if I ever see a racer dude on the street, I'm screwed, regardless WITH or WITHOUT a radar detector...

Anyhow, any suggestions on what type of Radar detector is good? My first instinct would be the Valentine1. Any other preferences? and is there a new type of frequency the cops use now-a-days?

The cops around where I live like to try and race you with their camaro cop car. it's very unfair.

Sounds like youre screwed if you cant handle a little rev next to you without dropping the clutch 5 seconds later.

Id try to figure that out first, then worry about a detector.

I like V1s but they're honestly really annoying. After a few hours in the car hearing those beeps for nothing, I gave it to a friend. I like the new Passport with GPS that lets you program speed traps into it.
