Radar Detector use in Texas?

Default Radar Detector use in Texas?
I am flying into Dallas on Wednesday and driving to Houston. I have a couple of questions for the Texas members. What band of radar is used on the Interstates? And is it legal to use radar?

They are legal in Texas. The bands vary from town to town. Also the interstate is patrolled by Sheriff, High Way Patrol and local police. They love to use the instant on.

Thanks for the run dow on the hot spots. Luckily I'll be in compact rental, maybe some problem if i had my S.
