I've been seeing more of those radar detectors/jammers on the market....does anyone know about them or if they work?

They don't work... the ones you can buy are passive devices. They supposedly scramble the signal and bounce it back. See they can't transmit anything because it's against FCC rules. The ones that are active jammers, they are illegal...

Jammers have become almost like an urban myth. Years ago speeders used to claim that they possessed jammers that would broadcast a steady 55 mph "signal" to fool the police radar. I'm sure someone made a lot of money off this myth.

Take a look at http://www.radartest.com - I believe there is no passive jammer that works, and that there is one (illegal) active one that works (not listed on the website, maybe they'll say if you pay them?).

Yeah, the only thing in this category worth buying is the license plate cover that blocks laser. Only works if the cop uses the plate as a target (a typical location).

Just crumble up some aluminum foil and put it in the "stooks mouth". It will give you the same amount of protection.
