Default Rag Top conversion

Hello everyone,

I have a 2001 S2K and I wanted to convert my rag top to the glass window version.

I noticed I can purchase the 2002+ S2K convertable rag top for under $950.

My question is it possible to do the swap?

If yes, will it be bolt-on or will modifications be needed?

Thank guys!

Modifications will be needed. It will require some drilling and riveting. Other than that, it has been done before. Search for it.

I called up a few places that could do the install if I was to purchase a rag top w/ rear glass window. I already have one quote for $700 labor. This seems a little too high, but I would like to see what you guys think or have heard in regards to the cost of an install.

Most people do the conversion themselves. And you ALWAYS have to mod the frame to fit glass into an 00-01 frame. The furthest back rib has to be attatched to the one ahead of it with elastic to slide forward to give the glass room to lay flat.

I did it. Took me 27 hours. Most people work faster than I do, and I had to do most of it twice because of a slight mistake on one of my straps. But you can count on 15 hours at least.

How much is your time worth?

Thanks for your advice!

I was looking around for an 2002+ rag top and they are all around $900+.

But I did come across this ad on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Honda-S2000...1QQcmdZViewItem

I am considering it since it is made to fit 2000-01 model but like you said, modification is still needed to make it fit.

Thanks again!
