I just installed my Kodokan_4/McGard Seat Locks. I wanted to take them out for a test drive, but its raining real hard. I hear that there is flooding in low lying areas. Heavy rain, again.

You worried about seat theft, Rob?

Certainly a good idea, no matter what... I was just curious.

Charlie

I tend to worry about everything on my S, but I am concerned about seat theft. I think the combination of desirable seats, and an "e-bay" market makes the theft of things like seats a little too attractive. It just seems to me that the $60 is a small price to pay for the added protection. I know there are no guarantees and someone who really wants my seats can get them, but I try to take whatever precautions I can.

Amen, Rob.

Suggest parking with the top up as well, then. You'll never stop a vandal with a knife, but you might stop a thief who wants something from inside the car.

Good luck with the locks. Take a couple of install pix.. I'd like to know if it's tough getting the lock installed. (probably not!)

Charlie

I always park with the top up. Even when I stop for only a few minutes. I just think its safer.

I did take some pictures of the install, but I'm reluctant to post them as I don't want to put the lock pattern on the board where everyone can see it. If you want to see I can put some "general" pics up. The install is real easy. The front two bolts of each seat are removed and the locks are bolted in in place. Both sides took a total of 10 minutes including the photos.

The locks look like the wheel locks except with a threaded bolt coming out of the bottom. You get 4 locks and one key.

I believe Kodokan_4 still has some if you are interested. You can get to the thread via the Group Buys forum.

I think it's worth doing.

Thanks for the info, Rob. Fair enough on the pix; I understand.

I'll consider it. I'm glad it was easy!

Tuesday night, 07/22/03, 11:05 P.M., 72*F and raining. Heavy rains & thunderstorms. Flash flood warnings have been issued.

Fortunately, I live in the mountains of Northern New Jersey, at a high point in my area. I feel sorry for those folks in the flood plains like Wayne, NJ.

I wonder how Tom and Ohio are doing. When is 4 coming home?

Wed am..muggy again today. The usual. Currently 71 and fog. Strong storms last night with chance again today. High mid 80s.

Rob - I would love to go to Fall Colors but my life is so uncertain when it comes to planning things right now. Been having medical issues with both my parents. Since hotel reservations have to be made soon I probably can't do it. Just too far ahead to know what will be going on.
