Default rant: dont damage your fenders

I had some door dings that I wanted to get taken out. Also recently, some asshat decided to key my drivers side door with a nice long scratch. Since they had to repaint a big section of the door, I decided to get the door handle repainted also, since it was kind of scratched from finger nails and whatnot. Also had a section on my back bumper where my girlfriend tapped me while she was following me in my pathfinder (but that is another story). SO took my car to a reputable body shop and got an estimate. It was a good deal, so I decided to have them do the repairs.

3 days later, I call to get status, and they tell me that when they were putting the door handle back in, they accidently scratched it, so they have to repaint. Fine, I can still have my car for labor day weekend.

Next day, they call me and tell me, that they WERE going to call me to tell me I could pick up my car, but instead they are calling me to tell me some bigger ASSHAT obviously backed into my car while it was sitting outside the body shop in the parking lot. Turns out, I need a new passenger door and a new fender. Too much damage to repair correctly. So at least until this Friday to get parts and repaint.

Well..

Door is on its way from Honda-usa or wherever. Fender is on national backorder. Body shop found a place in indianopolis who had one, and is going to ground ship it. It will be at the shop by Monday. So looks like I wont get my S back for another week.

Also its September in freaking Minnesota. I hope we have a mild Fall.

They told me if I need any transportation to let them know. I have my "beater" winter car I have been driving, plus my girlfriend has a car also.

I hope this is the last of it. I cant take much more S drama.

I call on the National back order. I would call your local Honda dealer and find out. The body shop is likely just trying to get a "good enough" used one from a scrap yard.

P.S. for the hassle you better not pay them one red cent for any work, including the original scratch repairs you requested!

Damn. Sucks dude. If you were in CA, I'd recommend you to this one guy that resprayed my front and rear bumbers. $380, can't tell the difference at all.

I don't get why everyone says fenders are on backorder, HardtopGuy (Joe Goetz) got me mine in like 5 days for a kick ass price.

With that much body work, you might want to consider having the whole car resprayed.
