check www.etires.com for prices on the nokian hakkapeliitta's. nokian's are made in finland, a country that knows a thing or two about snow...

It gave me an excuse to buy a good torque wrench and a floor jack. I use the stock wheels for my winter tires and my JDM BBS wheels for my OEM SO-2 summer tires.

Since you live in Maryland and see little in the way of winter weather, you might also want to consider a set of Ultra High Performance All Season tires such as the Dunlop SP5000. The snow performance should be sufficient to get you through a Maryland winter, without as much loss in dry performance.

Well after spinning once on a major highway at only 20mph because thats as fast as I could go, I decided to call Jim @ Tirerack. Granted, it was only a dusting, but my S0-3's are down to the wearbars in the rears and I couldnt even go staright on a flat stretch of road in 1 inch of snow. Jim recommended the Dunlop Winter Sport M2's over the Blizzaks as he said they are great in the snow but a little better when it is dry out, which it is most of the time. I just had them put on and the little they have seen snow so far, they have worked great. Thanks Jim for your help and essentially saving me from getting into an accident.

Hey, I've been thinking about getting snow tires for the longest time but have been dumb enough not to actually get them (money problems, I'm a student). It's already february and my question is, is it still worth buying a set of winter tires? I live in New Jersey, where it's been really cold and only this week are temps going to reach 50*F. I'm hoping this snowy winter is coming to an end (at least for driving ).

So the question is: Is it still worth to spend my money on a set of winter tires?

Really? I just bought these as my summer tires for my daily driver Prelude. Of course, Wyoming summer can include snow.

Barry's right, all the tires have to do is prevent an accident once and they paid for themselves.

The question is how good is the availability? I guess things are better now, but when ice/snow tires first came out they were all gone by December!

I find the posts attacking Ray for his opinions on the S2000's handling in the snow unbelievable for their intemperateness. They could make the same point with considerably more politeness.

We don't have anything down here resembling the conditions in Canada, so I think you guys up north could cut the guy a little more slack
