I was hearing a rattle when my top was up, and it turned out to be the spare tire was loose.

Latches have to be greased and sometimes tightened. Not a big problem. It happens to alls convertables.

its not the latches, its all the bars that move the top up and down, when your sitting in the car, its just to the left of drivers shoulder.

I noticed a sound too to on the drivers side just above the seat belt holder, after checking all the bars and latches I noticed there is a black sticker on one of the cross bars (maybe to prevent rubbing on the top) which was slight creased and when it moves (touch, wind, or bumps) makes a metallic scrapping sound (like when you're crumbling aluminum foil). Very strange. Squeezing it down seemed to help.
