Rear ended
Last week I was rear-ended. Sitting totally still in traffic and someone was texting/driving and plowed into me at full speed. Pushed me way forward and right under the SUV in front of me.

The hood and front bumper need new paint and 3M film for sure, but I think that's it. The back end is pretty screwed though, she hit me hard enough that I'm actually worried about frame damage. HKS exhaust is toast, and for some reason the car is sitting very high in the rear now (used to be < 1 finger fender gap). My work laptop (10" laptop) was in the trunk, and the trunk was crushed enough that it actually broke some of the plastic trim on it, and it was difficult to get out. The soft top was also really hard to put up
DAMMIT
Doesn't seem to matter how carefully you drive, somebody else has to ruin everything for you...

But I'm not
I thought I was 100% fine at the time of the accident but an hour and a half later my neck started getting real stiff.. Woke up the next morning in agony, went to the ER to get x-rays and I've been stuffed full of vicodin ever since. Weird tingling pains in spots on the back of my head, sharp shooting pains from my shoulder to the top of my head
Doctor says it's nerve damage, and there's no way to know this early whether or not the pains will go away.
Goes to show, never assume that you're totally OK after the accident just because you don't hurt yet. I'd heard that whiplash doesn't set in immediately, guess I know for sure now.

When I got rear ended , my GF MADE me go to ER. Thank God she did. About 6 months at a chiropractor and I'm still not 100%. At least his ins. is footing the bill.
Sucks about your car man. Hope you feel better soon.

That truly sucks. Between my wife and I, we have been rear ended 5 times over the years. Four times we were at a complete stop. Once, I was still travelling at 45 mph but coasting to slow down with traffic on a highway. An older idiot playing with a new CB radio of all things slammed into me at 65 mph because he took his eyes off the road. And no, this was not 1980, it was 2004.
Meanwhile, we have never rear ended anyone. Not even close. I guess I have a hard time understanding how this happens constantly. But, then again, cell phones, Big Mac, kid screaming in the back seat, Ipods, Nav Systems, coffee, apparently CB radios, etc.

I've seen too many friggin rear enders around here.
Whenever I approach an intersection, I make sure I can at least see the rear wheels of the car in front of me so that I have room to escape if I see the dumb-dumb not coming to a stop.
Man this sucks that you're in pain now.
Let her insurnace get you a new car and handle all the medical.
