Sorry this had to happen to you, the worst part is that there is so little you can do to prevent it. I got rear ended once before, fortuantly I saw it coming at the last second and was able to take my foot off the brake and push the clutch in. Totaled the otehr car left mine completely fine, aside from the coffee that went everywhere. The car still smelled like pumpkin spice when I sold it a year later

OP: I feel your pain. Been rear ended twice, once at a stop, the other time I was going 45mph. The whole process is just a huge hassle! Hope everything works out well for you.

So sorry to hear about your situation. Something similar happened to me last September. Luckily we were only slightly sore & it went away immediately. As has been said, it is such a pain in the ass when this happens. Have to do the phone call juggle with insurance & body shop, get a rental. Its all kind of depressing & stressful really. My car was eventually fixed & runs/looks like it did before. Here is a thread with pictures of my incident:
