Default Rear Floor pan damage

I just bought a 2002 Formula Red S2000. Driving home from the dealership a truck merged into my lane(I was in his blind spot he said) and I jerked the wheel wet pavement caused the car to spin out and slide down into a ditch. I am fine. Unfortuantely the exhaust(neuspeed) was wrecked and pushed the floor pan up in the back. The best description I can give is that it would be like some one took a mallet to the bottom of the floor plan.

Since it is a unibody car do you think its totaled?

Will buff right out.!!!
Seriously, have it checked;chances are,if the floorpan is bent, the car will never track the same.

It is the thin layer of metal under the tool kit. Is it possible to just weld another piece of metal in or bend it back? Why would the car track any different the exhaust just pushed on the pan--there was no front or rear impact.

The bottom of the trunk is not a structural part of the car. You could take out the liner and see how it looks and maybe even pound the thing back down.

Nice. I literally just bought it as a second car and I would feel terrible if I never get to drive it again. Will have the body shop do a ap2 rear bumper and comptech exhaust with the insurance money.

I agree with xviper. If no damage to the frame, the car should be in perfect shape after the relative minor body work.

A funny anecdote:
Did you know that there have been reported cases where someone actually tried to jack the back end of the car by using the bottom of the trunk? Guess what happened?
At least you came by it "honestly".
