Yeah I noticed they use thread lock or something (the black stuff). Was your thread lock missing?

I have a hard time believing it came apart by just washing, something had to be up. Maybe you unscrewed it too far and didn't want to tell?

 

i was washing around the mount and it just slipped off.

im having an impossible time un-screwing the screw. any advices?

 

I think you just need to line it up from the back and re-install the smaller phillips screw from the other side...

 

i need to get the spring under the big thread lock. there is no possible way of forcing it so that the hoofs get under the bolt..

The screw is double-ended. From this side, the screw starts by turning CCW, not CW !!!

wait? you mean to tighten it you need to turn it ccw, and to loosen it its cw???

so opposite of how it usually works?

 

It depends which side you are installing it from. The screw is designed so that when you install it to the windshield it makes sense: clockwise to tighten and counterclockwise to loosen. From the other side it has to be the other way around.
