Default rear wheel well liners?

I've had my car for a few weeks now and have noticed that the rear wheel wells are unlined. I live right near the beach and the roads here often have a thin layer of sugar-sand blown from the beach. Driving around it sounds like my rear wells are getting sandblasted. The sound is a little unnerving, not to mention the maintenance issues.

Has anyone else noticed this when driving on less-than-immaculate roads? Does anyone know of rear wheel well liners? I'm concerned about the sand and salt getting in the nooks and crannies.

Thanks

I have heard of no such liners for this car. That doesn't mean you couldn't make some for yourself.
See where I live? I drive this car all winter. I'm not worried about all the crud that gets thrown up in there. The car is rustproofed quite well from the factory and I hose it out every time I wash the car. It's my 3rd winter coming up. No issues.
Of course, you could always install a couple of those giant mud flap things off an 18 wheeler - you know, the ones with the silhouette of a naked lady?

yeah - as long as it's not a giant naked lady with mud flaps - hehe - um - ugh! banish the thought.

Nice to know it doesn't seem to be a maintenance issue as long as it's kept up with. What about the noise issue, do you also hear the stuff being thrown up by the tires?

May have to look into making something...

It sounds like a sandblaster or a spinning barrel full of gravel. You get used to it. At least, I have.

You still an owner? Did your car blowup after a few weeks of sandblasting?

What were the long term issues of this?
