Default Rear window defroster harness

I have a 2001 S2k and recently had the top replaced and retrofitted with the rear glass window. I was wondering if there is anyone who can help me by showing me how the rear defroster can be connected and have it operational. I am not sure what harness and switch to buy. Has anyone tried it ?? Any input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

try pm to hardtopguy.

you can probably use the relay, switch, and other parts from the h/t adapter kit.

Maybe the hardtop kit for the 01 would work??? It gives you the switch and wires to connect the defroster for the hardtop, I can only assume that it would be the same relay/wires for the soft-top defroster as well...

As HARDTOPGUY for prices on the kit and if it comes with the right wires...

If you are going to get all new wiring and a switch, why not just get the stuff that normally comes with an '02? Basically, that's what you've done. You've gotten yourself an '02 top.

I am sending you a PM. Check out my webpage at http://mahzilladad.curvedspaces.com for ideas on replicating the '02 circuitry.

If this picture comes thru, it shows the electrical components to install the defogger circuit in my '01. It consists of the hardtop subharness, the defogger switch (console mounted), and a modified hardtop harness which plugs into the boot in the rear left deck and the defogger grid. These parts cost about $110, not including labor. The remaining parts are the defogger relay, and various plastic trim pieces for mounting the switch and securing the wire to the grid (about $30). Look at HandAaccessories.com for the instructions to install the hardtop. The information for installing the parts under the trim is located there. The prices are from sources that give a discount. Your dealer will charge more.
