Recent compliments you've gotten?

I think you meant to say 29 years, but that's assuming your notion is sound to begin with.

Probably the ultimate compliment is whenever someone has inquired about buying the car or made me an offer for it out of the blue. If I had a few extra S2000s just like it sitting around it would be interesting to play along and see just how serious they are.

Friend of mine since school time, meanwhille owner of his own auto body + paint shop:
"I wasnt aware of this car, dont know about it, never seen it before, but boy, this is really a beautifull car!"
Seasoned branch manager of my local car parts store:
"Honda S 2000.. never heard it. What kind of car is it?" (Yes, they are rare as hens teeth here in Germany..)

Only 1,800 S2ooo are left in Germany. Thats nothing. 46,5 Million cars in Germany, for comparsion. 300,000 of them Porsche.
I encounter annother S2000 on the road one time a year, average.
Last year was big honda car meet, about 150 cars, 3 of them S2000, including mine.

I have a Silverstone with black interior AP1 and I get frequent compliments on it. I have had several instances where people old to young have pulled up next to me and said they love the car. Other times I've had people walk up to me at the gas station and ask questions and give compliments on the car. I know many will not agree but there is a reason why Silverstone was the most popular color for the S2000. It's the best and most iconic color for the car and truly highlights it's classic good looks.

In my experience convertibles in general tend to draw lots of attention. My very first car was a Triumph Spitfire. Living in a town of 1400 people it definitely stood out. But people would comment on it wherever I went. Later on I had a really nice '67 Camaro Convertible. That car drew more random attention than any other car I've owned before or since. With the S2000 it's interesting because some people obviously know what it is and want to visit and talk about the car while plenty of others just recognize it as an attractive car without any idea of what it is. I'm not convinced they would be able to identify a Miata either for that matter. But some people still seem to appreciate the idea of a car that you can drive around in with the top down. (And yes, there are also those who think it's a Miata.)
