Default Is the Red leather really Red?

On the AP2 models primarily, is the leather a true red? I have never seen one in person and sometimes in photos it appears to be more burgundy instead of a true red. Is it true or just lighting? Thanks.

Red is one of the freaking HARDEST color to capture properly. From what I have seen in person, it is a brighter shade of red.

Isn't there a Honda dealer near your house?

It is hard to capture. All of the pictures below are of the EXACT same seats. Just different lighting.

I think the newer red in the 05 models is darker though. I just looked at my buddys 05 silverstone/ black and red combo. Looks darker than my red carpet I have in the interior.

The Honda Dealer by my house has never had the red leather when I have been in. They are getting an 05 silver on red and was just curious on the coloring. I see your point with the photos, thanks for the posting them.

The 05 red is definitely darker. It's more of a brick red. Personally I like it better than the brighter red of the early cars (although mine is all black inside). Of course the 05 red is not on the whole seat either, just the centers.

I disagree. My '05 seats are the same red as all previous years.

I think you're also dealing with a certain amount of fading, esp on older models that have seen a lot of sunlight. Nothing dramatic, but that could account for the variation too.

The 05 has a nice striking, but not too bright tone of red. Haven't had a single moment of regret about getting it.

Well, I can't say for your particular car. I looked at the black/red interiors when I was researching my '04 model. I've seen the all red interiors that were available on some of the previous year models and they were considerably brighter than what I saw on the black/red interior on the '04 model.

AJPITO15, the way I'm interpreting your question, if you're looking for what I'd call a "true red," I think you'll be disappointed in the current black/red interiors, at least on the '04 models. The '05's and '06's may be better. I've not seen one of them. And the others are right. Accurately reproducing a red color in a photo is very difficult. Even if you get it close, having it come out correctly on a computer screen after the fact is even worse. Have you ever looked at new TV's in the electronics store? They'll have 10 TV's sitting there, all showing the same show, and all of the pictures will look different.

I know it's a PITA, but you really need to find the real thing and take a good look in person.

Best of luck,
Steve R.
