Some gears pop out spontaneuosly. There is a TSB for it however so the dealer should take care of that free of charge.

Rock chips my friend. Rock chips. The clearcoat and paint scratches and chips quite easily

Slap some clear bra on it and you're ready to roll though.

The only complaints I have, have already been mentioned:

-Notchy shifting when cold
-Very easy paint chipping

I wouldn't call either of those "reliability" issues though. Honda has been true to form so far for me.

What is this rear-bumper issue everyone talks about. My rear bumper seems fine. I don't want to take this off-topic, but does anyone have pics?

My rear bumper gap grows when it sits in the sun; its amusing actually, when going from shade to sun you can practically watch the thing move.

Go look at your rear right quaterpanel. Where the rear light and the panel fit....it may have a small gap. The two point does not meet together.

I noticed on mine that one side sits higher than the other. The right seems a little high, so I will probably adjust it to have a bit more of a gap like the left side. I would rather have equal gaps on both sides rather than one side being pinched against the rear quarter panel causing paint chipping.

He said "major issues" not niggly complaints. The answer is no.

This is one of three brand new S2000's I found sitting at a dealership with alignment and paint chips. I took pictures to help make my case to Honda to fix the problem. The sales manager was not very happy about me taking the pics. The brand new 05 I bought in July was in a body shop two days after I bought it to repair a 2 inch chip. The sales manager at that dealership thought that I got such a good deal on the car I shouldn't complain.
