PM tgnuyen0567, he's got remote start/stop I assume you have to park it in neutral for it to work. And even though it IS SoCal, it's still good to warm up the car for a couple minutes before rolling, the car always feels better when you do that. Personally, I can't wait that long, which is why this feature is a good thing.

You can get a programable one. It will start your car every day at 7:00... or whatever time you would like. I always thought that was pretty cool.

Maybe there's a way to fix it because like on weekends nobody wakes up that early.

The one I'm thinking of has a remote with an antena, for freaky range... no really, it's scary.

I have a remote start in my S2000. It is part of the Code alarm system and it does have an antenna with a range of approx 4-500ft. The installers were really cool, and hooked the remote start up for me.

Yes, you do have to ensure the car is in neutral.....which I do. It is great in the winter, and something I'm glad I did. What I'm going to do is have a mercury switch installed, so if the car is in gear or something and it tries to move, the car will instantly stall. An extra margin of safety.

As it is, if the car is remote started and someone tries to drive the car away, if the revs go over 2000 or they put their foot on the brake, the car stalls and the alarm activates again.

Cheers,

there's a simple way around this - many systems, including DEI (clifford, viper, et al) make you "prove" to the car before you shut it down that you're in neutral - you take all hands and feet off controls, press determined button(s) on remote, get out of car while car is still running (in neutral, obviously), then arm alarm. if the alarm is disturbed or disarmed, then the starter is disabled.

I (we at our shop) have a "shift gate" that we build around the shifter. When the car is in gear the starter is dissengaged. If this should fail, (there are 2 dozen + people I have put these on) I also keep the parking brake on (obviously). There is also an alarm remote start the we sell (compustar) that you "make a reservation" to start your car when you park it, however if you left it in gear, it would still jump. There theory is that if you have to go throu all this crap to get you car to remote start, that youi would remember to take it out of gear. I personally do no kike this brand, I preffer viper over all others but that is my opinion and what I use.

I use
viper 800 with horbn honk output to my air horns
radar field sensor (motion)
shock sensor
interior pain generator siren
and the voice
Remote start module

also in my accord I added a glass break sensor to the exact same setup.

In my civic I use a 550 (alarm w/start) and a voice

I charge 500 to put just a 550 in a car with a stick (all on the side with waivers signed), hey convience comes at a premium!

I live in portland oregon so naturaly we have the best weather here ...not! I bought the compustar alarm and had remote start installed and I love it! I start the car up everymorning when i get done getting ready for work, then have a bagal and 5 minutes later my car is warmed up! I always hated getting in it when I was late for work and driving off right away. I highly recomend it for all the daily driver s2k's!
