when i lock or unlock the doors with the remote key buttons, the doors respond immediately. the trunk does not. i have to hold the button down awhile for the trunk to open (the remote does not seem to transmit immediately for the trunk). i assume that this is normal? does anyone know why it does this, or if it can be fixed?
thanks-

I think it's a "safety feature" so you don't inadvertently activate the "option" where as the door lock just unlocks or locks instead of actually opening something.

Bums me out too!

Mine does the same. Sometimes it takes several seconds before it'll open. It's like the sensor is not very responsive. But I'll live with it.

according to my salesman, it's built that way so you don't actually open the trunk by accident..if you press the doorlocks, they open right away but if you don't open the door they actaully relock after 30 secs or so..unfortunately the trunk if accidently opened can't close itself!..happy new year everybody!

Your salesman is correct....also, the manual states that you must hold down the trunk release remote button for a second or so (dont have the manual in front of me), most likely because in the dark, it is easy to not know which button to press, and if you get the trunk release button instead of the door release button, you have a second or so to not open your trunk by mistake.

I wish Honda would take a page from Mercedes and have a light on the key, I think it's Mercedes that does that, might be Lexus. At any rate, still would be nice.
