I Just got the bel rx75 remote radar and laser detector for christmas.does anyone use a remote radar unit? which one do you have?did you remove front and/or rear bumpers to install the radar/laser modules? let me know. i went from windshield mounted unit to remote so i can leave top down more often. please give me input or suggestions...thanks,todd

 

I've got a front and rear detector in MY00, mounted the front one in between the plastic slits in the front grill and fabricated a bracket to mount the rear using longer rear lisence plate bolts.
I dont know what brand it is, but the beltronics STi that i also run in there that i pulled outta my mustang catchs it at the same time as my front/rear detector so in my opionion the extra money it is for a front/rear isnt worth it

 

The BEL STI is a great radar detector but i want a remote hidden one so i don't have to keep taking it down and putting it back up with each top down stop i make. but thats promising that the warning times are about the same. thanks for your input. todd

 

the front/rear one that i have just has a peice of velcro 2-way taped to the bottom of it and another peice on my dash on the far left side then ran the wires down the door so that it doesnt get in the way, if i need to move it i just rip it off the velco then put it back the way it was
