You can save a lot of $ if you buy the zr3 & new 8500 seperatly. The unit you want is their top of the line concealed/ permently installed unit. The 8500 sits on your visor or windshild and can be moved from car to car, you also get earlier warnings the higher up in you car that you can get the attenna. The ZR3 has to be perementally installed and while your installer is at it he can install a compleat zr7. I don't think a zr7 has a rear attenna for radar while the 8500 does I could be wrong. I'm running a V1 & ZR3 shifter. Laser is a real bitch.

I have one and love it. If you want laser scrambling, buy the SR7 and the add on laser scrambler. DO NOT get their "high end" model that includes it. It is actually worse at radar than the SR7. The 8500 does not have rear radar. It like the SR7 picks up reflections off items in front of you. The unit is essentially an 8500. It has slightly better range in some ranges and slightly worse in others. The differences are very small though.

I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again. I bought mine off ebay for $550 which can make warranty issues sticky\void. I figured that with the $350 I saved off retail I could buy a newer model if the whole thing actually failed.
