Removal of excess wax?
Doesn't it just rub off? If not, there are plenty of rubber cleaners and conditioners that should do the trick.
You know what really sucks? At some point in my car's life, I guess someone used an orbital polisher on it. Well, they came into contact with some of the rubber peices. So there are spots of rubber that are duller than others. I've tried everything and cannot get that to match. I think new rubber is the only answer. What a pain.

speaking of removal of wax....
does anyone know if using Mother's clay bar and or Meguiar's steps 1 or 2...i.e....paint cleaner/deepcrystal polish...would remove any wax that was previously on my car's surface?...
is it imperative to wax following their use no matter how little I may have used of those products?....
thanks....

Try Zaino. It wipes of the rubber surfaces without leaving that white residue.
To remove the old wax, wash the car with Dawn dishwashing liquid (1 oz./ gal.) then claybar the entire surface. Get something on as soon as possible. The finish will be naked. OOH that sounds kinda prudish.

I agree with Song it should just rub off, never use a solvent as it will permanently dull the finish. I detail and for rubber and plastic surfaces which turn white from age or from excess wax, I use Stoner spray for plastic and rubber which I get from my wholesaler but any supplier of automotive accessories can usually get it. I did a 6 year old Volvo this week which has lots of plastic and vinyl and it was really white. 2 applications and it looks brand new. Try not to get any on finish as I mask it off, but if you do wipe it off immediatly. I used Dawn dishwashing liquid to remove wax from my car but not the clay bar as under fluorescent lighting my surface was fine. If you use the clay bar MAKE SURE you use a lubricant and continuously knead the clay. [QUOTE]Originally posted by pellisS2k:
