Default Remove mud stains on top?

I posted this originally in the Wash & Wax but didn't get any responses.

We had a dust storm here recently which included rain. I had just bought the car so I hadn't put protectant on the top yet. The rain plus the dust storm made it rain mud. I now cannot get the mud stains out of the top. I tried a soft brush with soap and water, as recommended on this board, and the stains remain. Any ideas on how to get rid of the mud stains on the top?

Try an old soft toothbrush and focus on a small area.

On a jeep wrangler forum the people said to use Simple Green and a brush. While brushing, go with the grains of the soft top. If all fails, just get a perement marker and color it
