Default Remove resonator/silencer box

Evening chaps,

I was considering removing the stock resonator/silencer box for increased noise on the stock exhaust, im only after a slight noise increase, however i have a test pipe and videos etc i have watched it makes a horrible rasping noise with a test pipe installed a well....

How could you reduce the rasping noise yet still increase sound?

What about a resonated pipe???

Any ideas???

Save money and get a nice catback with a "quiet", and smooth sound. I recommend Fujitsubo, Apexi World Sport and Tanabe Super Medallion. Remember to please buy an exhaust from an authorized dealer. Don't wanna lecture you about this.

Think about what your asking. If you remove the resonator to give more sound it will give more rasp. So then to get rid of the rasp you gotta get a resonator again. Pretty pointless.
Just get a damn exhaust system.

You can solely put in the testpipe and it won't be very raspy. Thats the setup I have right now and its sounds better over stock without being annoying.

Edit: Just realized that you already have one installed lol. So yea your only option at this point if you want it even louder is to get a quite catback exhaust. Comptech is another option.

Just removing the resonator does not make the car very raspy. It's a bit raspy on startup but when the car is warmed up, it has a very nice light burble at low throttle and a harder, higher sound at WOT.

Look up "S2000 resonatorectomy" on youtube.com and listen to the white S2000 on start up. That's about as "bad" as it gets, and it's not that bad. In person, it sounds quite good.

Don't put a testpipe on there, though. Just take out the resonator and leave the rest stock.

you can cut out your stock mufflers and attach some mangaflow mufflers on. do a search on it. its quite cost effective.
