By far the most important thing to me is how it looks with the top down.

Last month I had my car parked next to my manager's yellow Boxster S and I noticed that his was painted yellow around the front windshield. I compared the two for quite a while, trying to decide if I wanted to remove the tape from mine. After looking at pictures both ways, I think I still like it with the tape. I'm not saying I think it looks bad without the tape I just like the contrast that the black adds.
jason saini, love the way the car looks now. i also think this is a great improvement to the looks of the stook. so, after being so amazed, i tried the same on my silver stook. i was able to get the tape out within 20 min. or so, however, some of the adhesive has remained on the paint. any suggestions on how to remove this safely? thanks a lot.
S2K4ARY,
I also had some adhesive left, used hair dryer, isopropyl alcohol 70%, and cotton towel. It came right off with a little elbow grease then waxed. Paint was perfect under the tape. Looks much better to me without the tape.

Utah... not big on the painted caliper look. Maybe black, but I'm not sure if the pait will hold up to the autocross heat. We'll see if Greg's lasts on the track, then maybe. And thanks for the props on the look! I learned about it on this board about 6 months ago. What did your Japanese friends think?
William, your Red looks *great* without the tape! And S2K4ARY, try 'goo-gone' which you can get at most drug stores... it will take any adheisive off, and shouldn't harm the paint.

Yep...I have to admit that I like the tape on as well. I'm not removing mine. JMO though.
I bought some 900 degree caliper paint though - in black. I figure if the brake fluid I have will boil at 530 degrees, and that's inside the caliper, then 900 on the outside of the caliper is more than enough insurance.
Cheers,
