removing hood question
i removed my stock hood and while unscrewing the bolt + metal washer, i noticed the plastic washer stuck on the hood latch has broken off....there are 2 washers for each hole, one on each side (8 all together).... do i really need this? what are they called because my honda dealer doesnt know what im talking about
I'll tell you what I think they are for, but I have no idea what they are called. Maybe plastic crush washers?
Anyway they are there to stabilize the hood, to keep it from vibrating at speed. I've tried them with and without when I replaced my hood to CF and immediately noticed the difference.

well why were you removing your hood? Did they break in half? or they are still useable? It they are still useable I suggest using them. There is a reason why they are there.
i changed my hood to a carbon fiber hood.... the thing that broke were the grips on the plastic washers that connects two together.... so i guess i can still use them but they wont stick to the hood latch...i would just have to use them as seperate washers.....
