Default Removing Passenger Front Panel

Hi All,

I'm no newb, but fruitless searches haven't turned up much. I did this on my 02 with no issues, but the AP2 seems a bit different.

How do I remove the lower panel on the passenger side to access the wire needed for the top down while moving mod.

I believe it is the black and white wire correct? which is the speed sensor wire. Which will allow me to one click the parking brake and allow me to raise/lower the top.

The problem I'm having is getting off the panel without damaging it. I've tried but I feel like I'm going to break it off or warp the panel or damage the surface by prying it off. There must be an easier way, and I'm sure I just don't know how to do it properly.

Don't ask me, I broke my panel the second time I took it off.

I'm just trying to figure out why you want to do it. Seems pointless to me.

why would you want to put your top down while moving?

I broke a clip on my 02, but it went back on just fine, and never had a problem with it, but the AP2 panel seems a little bit different, and I was struggling to even make the thing budge. I felt like the whole panel would break and snap off if I tried any harder.

This is a very popular mod amongst S2k owners. While obviously never performing top operation while moving faster than 20 mph(I think I did it at 30 mph ONCE).

It really helps when you are driving and it starts raining, or when you are driving and decide you want to put the top down.

I took mine off and it sticks, but it did not break. Just pull on it evenly not to overload one small section with force (if that makes sense)

Did you have to pull straight out, from the bottom?

Sorry, I'd rather just pull over or lower it at a stop light than tear up my car. Seems pointless to me. I've never been going 20 mph had the overwhelming desire to lower my top and risk f-ing it up. Its made that way for a reason. I mean how hard is it to wait till you come to a complete stop? You're willing to destroy an inner panel because you're too impatient to stop?
